Malton Show beats the weather !

Malton Show 2007
Malton Show 2007 "In the wake of the cancellation of the Ryedale Show, Sunday provided a welcome boost with the most successful Malton Show for years.

That was the verdict of the organisers of the 121st show after it beat the shocking summer weather.

What is believed to have been the biggest crowd for several years – more than 7,000 – enjoyed one of this year’s few surviving agricultural and horticultural shows in Yorkshire in brilliant sunshine. A delighted chairman Charlie Breese said: “It’s truly wonderful. Our gate attendance was well up on last year, which was itself the best we’d had for some time.”

There was an added bonus for the Show Society which runs the event. There are high hopes that it will at least break even for the first time for several years, after narrowing the deficit to just £2,000 last year...."
